Bridge Forward Cincinnati

A vision for a better bridge and a better future for Cincinnati.

2004 was a long time ago.

That is when work started on the concepts for the Brent Spence Bridge (BSB) Companion span.

It is not 2004 any more.  Nor is it 2012, when the current design was chosen. We deserve a BSB that reflects what is happening now, today in Cincinnati and Covington; we deserve a bridge that reconnects what was lost. We deserve to expand our city, to create new opportunities for people to live, work and play in our city. This is a Once-in-a-Generation moment that we must harness and use to its fullest potential for Ohio, Kentucky, Covington, Cincinnati and all of us.

We deserve a Better Bridge for a Better Future.

FORT WASHINGTON WAY - WEST

WE’VE ALREADY DONE THIS with Fort Washington Way. Today we have the same opportunity to expand the city on land freed up by the simplified ramp design. We can create 25 acres of land for use in expanding the Convention Center, relocating Heritage Bank Arena, and by developing the rest in a way that can offset the cost of the project.

This is Cincinnati’s moment to transform into a leading city for the next century.

A chance to heal and grow

The current interchange separated and disconnected many parts of the city. Without reconsidering these issues, the plan misses a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver both increased traffic throughput while also creating significant additional benefits to Cincinnati, Covington, and the greater region.
